Flight Training

The proper flight training is essential for anyone who wants to apply for an aircraft pilot's license. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has many requirements before issuing licenses, whether the pilot only wishes to fly a small private plane or whether he or she intends to become a commercial pilot for a large aircraft flight. Among the requirements is that a candidate for a pilot's license must prove he or she has logged in the minimum flight training time with a certified instructor from an accredited flight training school.

There are many types of aircraft that require flight training, including planes for private, recreational use such as skydiving or charter sightseeing flights, or commercial jet travel and freight transport, as well as helicopters for being able to get around large cities very quickly.

People who want licenses to legally operate these aircraft must be at least 16 years of age to begin solo flight training. The FAA also requires a medical certificate of health and physical competency to operate the equipment, and certified pilot's license candidates must also take a written exam.

The prices of flight training classes differ largely from area to area, at around 40 to 60 flight schools for approximately 7,000 US dollar for the PPL or Private Pilot License. The CPL or Commercial Pilot License usually rates from 40,000 US dollars to 60,000 US dollars. It is taken for about 1 to 2 years. These structured training programs are eligible by the FAA to issues pilot license with reduced hours of flight training.

Many flight training schools exist, but it's important to do thorough research to find a school that meets the standards of the FAA and will be able to help student pilots successfully obtain their pilot's license application. Certified flight training instructors can help students get their private pilot licenses in as little as a month into beginning training.
